Bigfoot Retro Foam is looking for a hardworking, dependable Attic Systems Installer to join our growing production team.
This isn't a job where you'll stand around watching someone else work. You'll be part of a crew transforming uncomfortable, inefficient attics into properly air-sealed and insulated spaces that make customers' homes more comfortable and energy efficient.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in physical work, pays attention to details, works well with a team, and wants to learn a skilled trade.
Experience in insulation or construction is helpful, but the right attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn are even more important.
What You'll DoAs an Attic Systems Installer, you'll work inside customers' homes and attics completing energy-efficiency and insulation projects.
Your Work May Include- Preparing homes and work areas before installation begins
- Protecting customers' floors, walls, furniture, and belongings
- Entering and working in residential attic spaces
- Removing or moving existing insulation when required
- Locating attic penetrations and sources of air leakage
- Air sealing plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other penetrations
- Sealing around attic access points, hatches, and pull-down stairs
- Installing covers and air-sealing details around appropriate recessed fixtures
- Sealing larger attic openings and chases
- Installing blown-in cellulose insulation to specified depths and R-values
- Installing rigid foam insulation and other attic insulation products
- Sealing duct joints, seams, gaps, and connections
- Assisting with duct insulation and encapsulation systems
- Installing ventilation and attic-efficiency components when included in the project
- Operating insulation blowers, hoses, vacuums, foam equipment, hand tools, and power tools
- Measuring materials and following the project's installation specifications
- Taking before, during, and after photos of completed work
- Maintaining a clean and organized jobsite
- Cleaning the customer's home and property before leaving
- Loading and unloading trucks, equipment, and materials
- Maintaining company tools, vehicles, and equipment
- Following Bigfoot Retro Foam and Attic Systems installation procedures
- Following all company and jobsite safety requirements
We want applicants to understand what they're signing up for.
Attic installation is physical work.You'll crawl, kneel, bend, climb, carry materials, pull insulation hose, use tools, and work in confined attic spaces.
Attics can be hot in the summer, cold in the winter, dusty, dirty, and tight.
Some days will be easier than others.
But at the end of the day, you'll be able to look at the work you completed and know that you physically improved someone's home.
