Salary:
- This is a 9.5 month position, 7 hours per day - 87.50%
- Monday-Friday
- 195 days.
Qualifications:
- Ability to organize and assist with classroom lessons and materials in a variety of subject areas
- Knowledge of the methods, techniques, and procedures used in teaching and supporting English learners
- Desire to work with and educate middle school students in small groups and individually
- Desire to work with and follow direction from content area teachers and specialists in classroom settings
- Ability to motivate and encourage others, be creative, flexible, and patient
- Fluent Spanish-speaker preferred
- In order to work under the direct supervision of an appropriately certified teacher to provide instructional assistance, paraprofessionals are require to:
- Obtain 60 college credit hours, or
- Have passed the Para Pro Assessment (before September 23, 2013) or
- Have passed the Paraprofessional Assessment through Pearson (September 23, 2013 through June 20, 2024) or
- Have passed the Para Pro Assessment through ETS (July 1, 2024 forward) or
- Completed the 20HR Substitute Certificate Course
