The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) will support plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician. Commitment to customer service and quality is expected.

You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Specialist will work under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The Specialist must be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment, follow guidance from Bio Life Medical Affairs, and provide support of environmental, health, and safety (EHS).

• Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions occurring at the facility and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance is needed, regarding donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is needed by occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community.

• High‑school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT‑Paramedic.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete the FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $33.44 - $45.98
