Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently; understand the Point of Sale system, and handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.Rotate all merchandise according to code dating policies and check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell-by dates and take appropriate action.Promote trust and respect among team members.Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold.Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold and respond to questions and make suggestions about products.Greet, engage, and assist customers.Inform customers of grocery specials.Order, label, stock, and inventory merchandise.Report product ordering, shipping, and pricing discrepancies to store management.Adhere to company's cash handling limits and work honestly to control loss.Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (e.g., Alcohol, Tobacco, Fireworks).Stay current with ads and promotions.Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines, maintain proper temperatures, and keep logs.Reinforce safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.Perform preventive maintenance and notify management of equipment issues.Report customer or employee accidents.Follow all applicable laws and company policies.Physical demands include standing, lifting, pushing/pulling, bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, manual dexterity, and repetitive motions.Work cooperatively in high-paced and stressful environments.Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively.Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.Qualifications
Minimum Position Qualifications:- Knowledge of basic math.
- Complete cashier training program.
- Memorize produce and sale items.
- Effective communication and reading skills.
- Must be 18 years old.
