Responsibilities
- Perform day‑close scenarios for the Guest Service area and account for daily activity by organizing and verifying information, identifying and correcting discrepancies, posting accounts, and running and distributing daily reports.
- Audit, balance, and report on all food and beverage outlets’ cash and credit operations, including checks, over/short figures, deposits, counts, house charges, promotional materials, and postings, and reset all registers to ensure accurate, timely information.
- Reconcile cashier’s reports with the restaurant system each night, researching and posting any unresolved tickets from day shifts.
- Maintain and post daily balances of all house accounts, running preliminary reconciliations, detailing transactions, and delivering final reports to accounting.
- Audit, balance, post and report on the front desk, covering room charges, phone calls, zero‑balance folios, corrections, adjustments, taxes, disputed charges, over/short figures, and deposits.
- Audit, balance, and prepare, verify, and report on room information to provide room management with a clear picture of revenue performance.
- Prepare and input statistics and income journal sheets for the preparation of daily reports.
- Produce accurate and timely reports and correctly handle all cash transactions.
- Balance and audit for accuracy room revenue, food and beverage revenue, cashier’s reports, guest and house accounts, and telephone revenue; assist in preparing all reports relevant to daily revenues.
- Balance and close all bank ticket codes daily; transmit credit card batches and run the final night audit once all revenues are balanced nightly.
- Complete and transmit daily management and accounting reports and supporting documents.
- Act as hotel system liaison during night hours.
- Perform all Guest Service Representative functions as required, including assisting with room reservations, answering hotel phone calls, and notifying guests of messages.
- Perform any other duties as designated.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred. - Experience:
Six to twelve months in a related position or office setting with this company or other organizations; accounting or hospitality experience is a bonus. - Skills and abilities:
Excellent computer and cash handling skills; ability to stand for extended periods; sociable, outgoing, lively, and guest‑service‑oriented demeanor; adaptability to changing guest needs; good judgment and conflict‑resolution skills; strong communication of hotel services to management, staff, and guests; working knowledge generally learned on the job.
