Yelton Construction is seeking an experienced Marine Construction Foreman to lead one of our barge crews building docks, bulkheads, and other waterfront structures throughout North Florida.
This is a full-time, year-round position with an established marine contractor celebrating 40 years in business. We are looking for a proven leader with hands‑on marine construction experience who can safely lead a crew, maintain exceptional workmanship, and keep projects moving efficiently. Responsibilities- Lead and supervise a marine construction crew.
- Construct timber and composite docks, bulkheads, seawalls, and other waterfront structures.
- Operate a friction crane from a barge.
- Read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Plan daily work activities and keep projects on schedule.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and job site organization.
- Train and mentor crew members.
- Enforce all company safety policies and OSHA standards.
- Work alongside the crew as needed to complete projects safely and efficiently.
- Minimum 5 years of marine construction experience.
- Experience constructing docks and bulkheads is required.
- Experience operating a friction crane is required.
- Previous foreman or crew leadership experience preferred.
- Strong carpentry skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Dependable, organized, and safety‑minded.
- Comfortable working on barges and around the water.
- Valid driver's license.
- $30.00–$40.00+ per hour
, based on experience and qualifications. - Overtime available (typically 45–55 hours per week).
