Qualifications:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with K-12 students who are blind or visually impaired preferred
• Strong understanding of Braille, assistive technologies, and accessible instructional strategies
• Ability to develop and implement IEP goals tailored to students individual needs
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with educational staff, families, and related service providers
• Adaptable and compassionate approach to teaching and inclusion

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments in a variety of educational settings
• Assess and develop individualized education programs (IEPs) in conjunction with multidisciplinary teams
• Recommend and teach the use of adaptive equipment and accessible learning materials
• Support classroom teachers and staff with strategies for inclusive practices
• Monitor student progress, adjust instruction as needed, and maintain accurate documentation
• Foster an encouraging, safe, and accessible learning environment
