Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE) technician to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in St Augustine, FL.
This position identifies, procures, inspects, repairs, and performs O-level and I-level maintenance on the following ALSE: flight helmets, oxygen masks, oxygen regulators, torso harnesses, survival vests, parachutes, survival kits and survival items. It installs/removes parachutes from aircraft and services emergency oxygen bottles. The role also assists flight crew members with preflight preparations and postflight procedures, maintains equipment inspection records, publications and NAVAIR technical manuals, and handles additional duties such as supply, HAZCOM, calibration tools, training, consolidated tool kits (CTKs), and explosive safety.
The technician ensures survival equipment complies with flight safety, company, and customer standards, conducts ground egress training for pilots, performs aircrew flight equipment fit checks, and may be called to familiarize company and customer flight crew members with escape and survival techniques, including aircraft ditch & bailout, water/land survival, and personal equipment operations. The selected candidate must also assist Human Factors, Crew Station Engineering and Special Projects by providing aircrew equipment requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of Aircrew Flight Equipment and/or Life Support or other relevant experience
- Must be a graduate of Navy PR “A” school or Air Force equivalent
- Active U.S. government Secret Clearance with an investigation date/periodic review within the last 5 years
- Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 45 pounds, and working overhead
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, to support flight schedules
- Able to organize and perform duties with minimum supervision
- Have good written and verbal communication
- Work well with peers, aircrew members and supervisors/managers
- Transitioning service member or veteran of the U.S. military service or current military guard or reserve member.
Primary Level Salary Range: $57,500.00 - $95,900.00
