Student Employment - Viking Mascot

STUDENT EMPLOYMENT REQUIRMENT, MUST HAVE FAFSA ON FILE.
It's the ultimate student job - the Viking mascot! The college mascot position involves representing SJR State at various events, promoting school spirit, and entertaining crowds. The role requires a high-energy, outgoing individual with strong non-verbal communication skills to embody the mascot's personality and engage with fans of all ages. Events include parades, community events, graduation, open house, athletic events, marketing photos/video for the college, etc.

Hours will vary each month, depending on the schedule of events. Requirements include:
• It is a physically demanding role. Good physical stamina and endurance to perform in the costume for extended periods.
• A willingness to work flexible hours (including evenings and weekends), adapt to different environments, and handle unexpected situations.
• Height requirement for costume ranges between 5'8" - 6'2".
• Size requirement for costumes - cannot fit XL or larger.
• Eyeglasses cannot be worn with costume.
This position is only available to SJR State students who are eligible for student employment in the current semester. High school diploma or equivalent required. Applicants must pass verification of employment, reference screening and background check. This position is NOT eligible for Veteran's Preference.
