Technol CardiovascularCath Lab

Overview Performs diversified technical and clinical responsibilities in the cardiac catheterization laboratory.

• Age of patients served:
  Adult (18‑64 years), Geriatric (≥65 years)
• Required
  
  Education:
  
  High School Diploma or GED
• Required Course Work:
  Graduate of Cardiovascular Program or, in lieu of a degree, have 10+ years of experience in the Invasive Cath Lab
• Preferred Education:
  
  Graduate CVT program with a RCIS certification

• Use of good radiographic techniques to reduce radiation exposure to patient and personnel
• Good communication skills
• Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology (adult)
• Be able to use hospital computer system
• Knowledge of filing system
• Ability to prepare procedure tray/equipment and maintain sterility
• Knowledge of body techniques and ability to use good body mechanics
• Ability to initiate appropriate patient charge
• Proficiency in using Cath lab equipment
• Patient advocate skills

BLS from the American Heart Association, ACLS from the American Heart Association within 6 months of hire or transfer into the position, Must be Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)

Less than 1 year experience in cardiac cath labs and/or direct patient care
