Responsibilities

As a Technician, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within your store. Technicians act as the first point of contact for patients and customers, ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while providing caring service that exceeds patient expectations. Through consistent application of SOPs, best practices, and effective communication, they contribute to a safe and inclusive culture where all people feel valued and empowered.

  • Live our purpose by following all company SOPs at each workstation to help our Pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
  • Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (i.e., production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, and drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care through heartfelt and personalized moments at pick‑up, drive‑thru, and over the phone; offer immunizations and other services; and solve or appropriately escalate patient problems.
  • Complete basic inventory activities, as permitted by law and directed by pharmacy leadership, such as accurately putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, and other inventory tasks.
  • Contribute to a high‑performing team, embrace a growth mindset, be receptive to feedback, and actively seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge needed to better assist patients.
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including voluntarily traveling to stores in the market to work shifts as required.
  • Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles, ensuring patient safety, compliance with controlled substance dispensing and record‑keeping, and protection of patient privacy and security.
  • Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and voluntary staffing of offsite clinics), where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification.
Immunization Responsibilities
  • Complete additional licensure and training requirements, in compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations, to obtain Technician Immunizer status for preparing and administering vaccines.
  • Educate patients on the importance of vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the Pharmacist‑on‑duty.
  • Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions; report adverse reaction events per public health requirements.
  • Review and collect patient information; track and document for each applicable patient.
  • Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.
Required Qualifications
  • Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, which includes but is not limited to age, education, and licensure/certification.
  • If the state board of pharmacy does not address a minimum age requirement, must be at least 16 years of age.
  • If the state board of pharmacy does not address a minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high‑school equivalency program.
