Overview
Performs echocardiograms on adult and pediatric inpatient/outpatients.
Qualifications- Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups Required
- Education: GED or High School Diploma.
- Preferred Education: Graduate of a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer program.
- Required Licensure/
Certifications:- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- CCI or ARDMS, RDCS, required within one (1) year of hire or transfer date.
- Amount of
Experience:
Less than one (1) year minimum.
Preferred Experience:
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer. - Necessary
Skills:- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound physics.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, customer/patient service, problem solving, time management, and organizational skill; team player with excellent communication skills, including telephone etiquette.
- Ability to recognize life‑threatening findings and notify physicians.
- Ability to calculate test results.
- Uses good body mechanics.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Serves as patient advocate.
- Good organizational skills and basic computer data entry.
