General Manager

St. Johns Golf & Country Club is excited to announce an exceptional career opportunity as General Manager. Troon is seeking a leader who is energized by creating a culture of hospitality, training, and accountability, and who can oversee every aspect of the operation while optimizing financial performance.

Manages all aspects of the Club, including its activities and relationships between Troon Golf, members, guests, associates, community, government, and industry.

• Coordinates the development of the Club’s long‑range and annual business plans.
• Administers Club policies and procedures established by Troon.
• Plans, develops, and approves specific operational policies, programs, procedures, and methods in concert with general policies.
• Prepares and monitors annual budget, revenue goals and expenses, and generates weekly, monthly, and annual business volume forecasts.
• Monitors monthly and other financial reports and statements, taking effective corrective action when necessary.
• Works with Troon Golf Human Resources to establish basic personnel policy and oversee training and professional development programs.
• Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, assigning, directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, disciplining associates, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
• Directly manages department members such as Food & Beverage Director, Head Golf Professional, Superintendent, Director of Sales, Director of Instruction, and Administrative Assistant.
• Attends conferences, workshops, and meetings to stay current in the field.
• Ensures Club operations comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws.
• Oversees the care and maintenance of all the Club’s physical assets and facilities.
• Ensures the highest standards for food, beverage, sports and recreation, entertainment, and other Club services.
• Establishes and monitors compliance with Troon Golf Procurement purchasing policies and procedures.
• Participates in outside activities that enhance the prestige of the Club, as approved by Troon.
• Serves as liaison between all management staff and Troon.
• Maintains relations with police, fire, liquor control board, health department, and other governmental agencies.
• Handles emergencies such as fires, accidents, and breaches of security promptly and personally, emphasizing prevention through training, inspection, and enforcement.
• Convenes and presides over meetings with departmental managers; conducts all‑facility personnel meetings.
• Gives direction to and works closely with vendors, contractors, firms, and individuals providing services, lease agreements, or contracts to the Club.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.

• Bachelor’s degree (BA); or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Regularly stands, walks, and sits.
• Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, tastes, or smells.
• Regularly uses hands to finger, feel, or handle, reaches with arms and hands, talks or hears.
• Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

• Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions.
• Noise level is moderate.

• Class A member of PGA/LPGA preferred.

• Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
