The Assistant Center Director is a key operational leader who supports the Center Director in running a high-performing dojo. This role blends front-line execution, team leadership, sales support, and customer experience excellence. The Assistant Center Director helps ensure the dojo runs smoothly day-to-day while developing the skills needed to grow into a future Center Director.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Execution
- Support and help oversee daily dojo operations
- Step into leadership as needed in the absence of the Center Director
- Ensure a clean, organized, safe, and high-energy environment
- Maintain awareness of floor activity and student experience at all times
- Adapt quickly to real-time needs and support smooth operations
Sales, Tours & Parent Experience
- Follow up on leads, schedule tours, and support enrollment conversions
- Deliver engaging and informative tours for prospective families
- Build strong relationships with parents and ensure a high level of communication
- Help parents understand their child's progress and experience
- Contribute to retention through exceptional service and engagement
Team Support & Development
- Support scheduling and daily coordination of Senseis
- Assist in training, coaching, and mentoring team members
- Lead by example on the floor through energy, engagement, and professionalism
- Help ensure proper staffing levels and team readiness
Student Experience & Instructional Support
- Engage directly with students to ensure a fun and productive learning experience
- Support curriculum delivery and help troubleshoot student challenges
- Reinforce a culture of encouragement, creativity, and problem-solving
Community Engagement & Local Outreach
- Support the Center Director in local community engagement efforts
- Participate in: school outreach and partnerships
- Community events, demos, and promotions
- In-center events and parent engagement activities
- Help ensure the dojo is a welcoming and visible part of the local community
Reporting & Accountability
- Assist with tracking key metrics and reporting
- Provide updates to Center Director on operations, team performance, and customer experience
- Help identify opportunities for improvement and growth
Required
- Experience working with children (ages 5+) and passion for youth development
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of sales, customer service, or operations
- Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Positive attitude and team-first mindset
Preferred
- Experience in education, camps, retail, or service-based environments
- Sales, marketing, or customer engagement experience
- Interest in technology, gaming, or STEM education
- Familiarity with programming (JavaScript, Python, C#, etc.) is a plus (training provided)
- Associate's degree or equivalent work experience
The Assistant Center Director is essential to delivering a consistent, high-quality dojo experience while supporting growth, team development, and parent satisfaction. This role is also a critical leadership pipeline position, preparing future Center Directors to lead their own high-performing dojos and strengthen Code Ninjas' impact in the community.
Compensation: $17.50 – $20 per hour | 20–25 hours per week + with opportunity for full time
