Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for Aircraft Structures Mechanic Level 2/3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This candidate will support our E-2D Manufacturing and Production Organization. This role will be located on site in Saint Augustine, Florida.
This role is for a hands‑on person with great attention to detail, top focus on quality and the ability to interface with multiple teams.
Essential Functions- Read and understand blueprints
- Translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies to include: precision drilling, countersinking, and the use of calibrated tools
- Aligning parts on jigs using templates and fixtures
- Performing part‑fitting operations: filing sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling and reaming
- Measures parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions
- May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
- Ability to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends
- Assemble and install hydraulic systems.
- Assemble and install fuel lines and electrical harnesses.
- Usage of manufacturing shop controls and systems.
- Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance and team effectiveness.
- Adhere to all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety guidelines and regulations
- Work and communicate over ambient noise
- Work in a variety of work spaces/positions. Work spaces may include but are not limited to small, enclosed spaces, awkward, and elevated spaces. Positions may include bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, ascending/descending ladders, and/or working overhead.
- Ability to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends
- 6 am - 4:30 pm (M-Th 4x10s)
- 4:30 pm - 3 am (M-Th 4x10s)
- 2 am - 12:30 pm (M-Th 4x10s)
- 6 am - 6:30 pm (Fr-Sun 3x12s)

This role will be filled at either a Structures Mechanic 2 or 3 based on the relevant experience required for each role.
Basic Qualifications for Level 2- High School Diploma or GED and 2 years' experience with sheet metal structures, hydraulic parts, assemblies, components, manufacturing electrical and/or systems.
- Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 25 pounds, and working overhead.
- Must be able to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment.
- The ability to pass Medical/Respiratory Exam.
- The ability to work any work schedule and overtime as needed by the business.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Secret DOD clearance in a reasonable amount of time as required by the business.
