What you will be doing
  • Oversees the operation of all the extrusion presses, extrusion age ovens on his/her shift.
  • Interviews prospective employees as requested by the Human Resource Dept.
  • Maintains records for his/her shift concerning pounds/hr., efficiency, utilization, and recovery rates.
  • Directs and coaches the team leaders in his/her area.
  • Develop and monitor extrusion practices.
  • Conducts daily visual inspection in department to detect safety concerns.
  • Helps team leaders to increase production rates and establish new procedures.
  • Establish reasonable production rates on new jobs.
  • Monitor that all inspection reports are being filled out on his/her shift.
  • Monitor monthly safety reports are being done.
  • Perform special projects at the dept. manager’s request.
  • Attends monthly safety meetings.
  • Support and maintain established Hydro Quality and Management System.
  • Sponsor and support of all Continuous Reliability Improvement standards and practices through implemented predictive measures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What will make you successful?
  • 3 years experience in manufacturing equipment operation.
  • Must complete Hydro's leadership training program.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Understanding of safety, quality and production processes.
  • Basic reading and mathematics.
  • Knowledge of all types of measuring devices; i.e. calipers,micrometers, height gauges, tape measure, etc.
  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions.
  • Team player.
  • Adaptable to change.
  • Results oriented.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to function successfully in a fast-paced, changing work environment.
  • Demonstrate ability to work in and through teams, with all levels of the workforce.
