Position: Aircraft Structures Mechanic 3
DPP is seeking an Aircraft Structures Mechanic for an opportunity with our client in the Defense & Space Manufacturing industry.

Work location:
Onsite in Saint Augustine, FL
Work shift: 1st shift (6 AM – 4:30 PM); 2nd shift (4:30 PM – 3 AM)
Duration: 12 months
Terms: W2 position
Work authorization: US Citizen

Position summary:
  • The Aircraft Structures Mechanic 3 will perform a variety of operations to assemble and make major assembly structures such as fuselage panels and bulkheads, and structural subassemblies such as rudders, flaps, and stabilizers.
Responsibilities:
  • Performs a variety of operations to assemble and make major assembly structures such as fuselage panels and bulkheads, and structural subassemblies such as rudders, flaps, and stabilizers.
  • Aligns parts on jigs using templates and fixtures.
  • Performs such minor part-fitting operations as filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming.
  • Measures parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
  • May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure.
  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Basic qualifications:
  • Ability to understand and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to comprehend engineering requirements and put them into practice
  • Independently perform complex, depot-level structural repairs and modifications.
  • Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers) to verify parts.
  • Work with various materials, including aluminum and composites.
  • May mentor lower-level technicians.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Extensive experience with composites, structural repair, and precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers).
  • Ability to work as a lead technician, guiding lower-level employees, and working independently.
  • Must perform strenuous work, including lifting 25–50 lbs. working in confined spaces, and working at heights.
