$20.09/hour plus $1.50 shift differential on night shift.
Shifts Available and HoursDay 12‑hr shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) continental schedule.
What you will be doing- Operate various extrusion equipment.
- Inspect equipment daily to ensure safety devices are in place and report safety concerns.
- Visually inspect work for defects.
- Remove billet from furnace, guide it along the extrusion press conveyor onto the press bed, and into the billet container.
- Start the ram that spreads the billet into the container and forces it through the press.
- Regulate the rate of extrusion to prevent metal rupture and adhesion to the container walls.
- Start the press run, use the out‑table and butt shears to guide the extrusion from the press and trim flash.
- Pull the extrusion along the conveyor to the racking table.
- Spray the die with lubricant, caustic, oils, blocks, and mandrels.
- Record data such as crew time, number of billets used, and items processed.
- Operate extrusion press equipment that ejects hot billets into the press chamber for the ram to force through die.
- Inspect or measure using precision instruments, such as tape measure, calipers, height gauge, micrometers, etc.
- Read blueprints to the extent necessary for the job at hand.
- Set up and operate extrusion press to shape hot aluminium profiles.
- Ensure quality parts by visually inspecting parts and identifying manufacturing problems.
- Support Continuous Reliability Improvement standards and practices through implemented predictive measures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Prior knowledge of extrusion department desired.
- Prior machinery experience is a plus.
- Manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not required.
- Basic computer skills required to maintain tolerances where gauges or test equipment are provided.
- Must have ability to communicate.
- Work well with all employees at all levels.
- Willingness to learn new processes.
- Work with limited supervision.
