Role Description

This is a part‑time, 2 days on‑site role 3 days telework (5 days a week 5 hrs per day) position for a Grants Writer at Limelight Theatre, located in St. Augustine, FL.

The Grants Writer will be responsible for preparing compelling and persuasive grant proposals, researching potential funding opportunities, and managing the grant application process. Additional duties include collaborating with the Executive Director to develop strategies for fundraising, ensuring compliance with funding guidelines, and maintaining relationships with existing funders to secure continued support. The role requires exceptional organizational and communication skills to help achieve the theatre's funding goals and extend its community impact.

Job Responsibilities

The role requires in office two days per week 5 hrs a day Telework the other 3. The position pays $20 per hour. You would be expected to work 25 hours each week, with a flexible schedule.

Core Responsibilities
  • Prospect Research:
    Identifying and vetting potential funding sources from government agencies, private foundations, and corporations that align with the organization's goals.
  • Proposal Development:
    Drafting, editing, and submitting high‑quality grant applications, letters of inquiry (LOIs), and concept notes.
  • Project Management:
    Maintaining a master grants calendar to track deadlines for submissions, reports, and renewals.
  • Financial Coordination:
    Working with finance teams to develop accurate project budgets and ensuring all requested financial documentation is included.
  • Compliance & Reporting:
    Ensuring all proposals meet strict funder guidelines and preparing post‑award reports to demonstrate how funds were utilized.
  • Stakeholder

    Collaboration:

    Gathering data and "success stories" from program staff to build compelling narratives and logic models.
  • Stewardship:
    Building and maintaining long‑term relationships with foundation officers and donors through regular communication and updates.
Qualifications
  • Strong expertise in Grant Writing and Proposal Writing
  • Proficiency in Prospect Research and identifying funding opportunities
  • Experience in Grant Administration, including tracking, documentation, and reporting
  • Understanding of Fundraising principles and practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects efficiently
  • Experience with non‑profit arts organizations is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Non‑Profit Management, or a related field is preferred
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Willingness to work in a small office environment and the ability to complete all tasks with little direct oversight
