Position Overview

The Intake Coordinator for Ackerman Urology is responsible for managing incoming new patients. This role involves obtaining patient referrals from healthcare providers, physicians, patient self-referrals, and online inquiries. The Intake Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring that each patient receives exceptional service and support throughout their journey with Ackerman Urology.

Essential Job Functions
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from potential patients in need of urological care.
  • Provide comprehensive information about the treatment, addressing their questions and concerns. Additionally, assist patients in understanding the costs associated with services and treatment.
  • Verify patients' insurance coverage or explore alternative options for treatment costs.
  • Coordinate with billing to address any insurance or payment-related concerns.
  • Ensure that necessary authorizations are obtained from insurance providers prior to consultation.
  • Maintain regular communication to nurture leads and guide patients through the inquiry stage.
  • Coordinate appointment scheduling, working closely with physicians and clinic staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of appointments and follow-up actions.
  • Maintain positive relationships with patients, providing up-to-date information, education, and exceptional patient experiences.
  • Support intake duties at all locations of Ackerman Cancer Center as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • At least two years related experience in Customer Service in a medical environment is required.
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the medical field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
