SUMMARYThe Business Development Manager (BDM) aggressively pursues new business within all targeted aerospace, defense, and space accounts in the Western United States. The BDM will manage existing accounts while primarily focusing on developing new business for Amphenol CIT (ACIT). Drawing on significant experience selling wire, cable, and interconnect components, the BDM builds expertise in other Amphenol products to target joint opportunities.
A high‑energy, self‑starter with a passion for winning new business and delivering innovative solutions, the BDM thrives in green‑field selling and works autonomously while collaborating with internal partners.
- Develop new business within assigned market segments and region, aligning with company growth and profitability strategy; proactively pursue opportunities, remove obstacles, and drive projects forward.
- Establish high‑value relationships at all levels within new and existing accounts, building trust and linking customer relationships to internal peers.
- Collaborate with Amphenol’s Military and Aerospace Operations sales organization for opportunity identification and development in regional accounts.
- Partner with product management and engineering on new product development opportunities to address market needs.
- Develop deep product knowledge to articulate the value proposition in sales presentations, proposals, and training.
- Execute strategies to close sales‑funnel opportunities, resulting in new business.
- Understand the broader market ecosystem and dynamics to justify investments in new technologies and marketing initiatives.
- Facilitate product roadmap development within growth accounts, aligning internal resources with account needs.
- Follow up with customers to ensure service level expectations are met or exceeded.
- Represent ACIT at trade shows and industry events; support design and planning of presentations and materials.
- Maintain up‑to‑date industry knowledge.
- Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEMinimum of five years of experience in sales, engineering, and/or product management within aerospace and/or interconnect industries.
Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or other relevant course of study, or equivalent experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, write, speak, and understand English. The employee should be able to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, technical procedures, and regulations; write reports, business correspondence, and manuals; and effectively present information to managers, clients, and the general public.
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS- Knowledge or strong technical aptitude, with a desire to learn key selling points and link them to account needs.
