Residence Hall Desk Assistant

Responsibilities:

• Check student IDs of any individuals attempting to enter a residence hall where they are not assigned by tailgating after residential students
• Request Campus Security presence to address any observed behaviors including but not limited to resident/student misconduct, intoxication, disruptive behaviors, or quiet hour violations.
• Report any unauthorized individuals (non-Flagler) or suspicious activity on College property.
• Remain available at the desk to answer questions, address concerns, and refer residents to appropriate campus resources as needed.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, Residence Life & Security Staff, and supervisors.
• Work collaboratively with other Residence Life staff, including Resident Advisors, to support a safe and positive community; respond appropriately and report crisis situations to the RA on Duty and Campus Security.
• Submit a written shift report after each shift worked outlining interactions, referrals, and questions.
• Wear the issued Residence Life polo shirt and name tag during every shift.

Qualifications:

• Desk Assistants work 4-hour shifts:
• Sunday–Thursday: 8:00 PM – 12:00 AM
• Friday & Saturday: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM and 10:00 PM – 2:00 AM

• Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher while employed.
