Salary/Wage Range or Industry Benchmark: 30 - 40 USD Hourly USD 30.00 40.00 HOUR

We are seeking an experienced heavy equipment mechanic for a resident field technician role in St. Augustine, Florida. Tend to earth moving equipment (track & rubber tire) and heavy construction machinery. Maintain all systems and components with access to OEM diagnostics, schematics, blueprints, specialty tooling, and continued training.

Compensation:

$30.00 - $40.00/hour to start with flexibility for higher starting rate based on experience.
Well tooled company service truck provided.
Benefits package: health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance. 401K with match.
Day shift, Monday to Friday.
Flexibility needed for earlier start times, extended hours, and OT.

Key Responsibilities:

Respond to service calls and travel to customer locations.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment, including engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and powertrains.
Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative service to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
Accurately document work performed, parts used and maintain service records.
Work closely with the service team, dispatchers, and parts department to ensure efficient and timely repairs.
Use diagnostic tools and software to identify issues and recommend effective solutions.

Qualifications:

Proven experience maintaining earth moving equipment, road building equipment, and/or aerial equipment.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics.
Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical bulletins.
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and computerized diagnostic software.
Valid drivers license with driving record in good standing required.
