Warehouse Forklift Operator

Position Description

Ryder is hiring a Forklift Operator/Cargo Handler/Dock Worker in St. Augustine, FL.

Hourly Pay: $18.13 per hour.

Schedule:

Monday‑Friday 7:00 AM‑3:30 PM.

• Perform material moves with associated transactions as required by the customer.
• Work at a continuous fast pace.
• Load and unload inbound/outbound trailers, ensuring all scanning is completed correctly and help train dock employees on new procedures.
• Ensure the facility is secure at the end of the shift, investigate and resolve scanning issues, and maintain housekeeping.
• Complete assigned tasks safely within allotted time.
• Participate in work group and other team activities to improve warehouse operations and business functions.

• Abide by all company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform work assignments accurately, timely, and safely.
• Pick product to fill customer orders.
• Pack, crate, and prepare orders for loading onto truck/trailer.
• Operate cardboard baler machine.
• Operate forklift and manual pallet jack.
• Conduct pre‑trip inspection of forklift daily.
• Complete required training as scheduled.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year or more of related shipping/receiving or warehouse experience preferred.
• Forklift certification.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds unassisted.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to process system information productively.
• Ability to create and maintain professional relationships at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Flexibility to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
• Capable of multi‑tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills.
• Detail‑oriented with excellent follow‑up practices.
