We are hiring a Warehouse Associate/Back-up Driver to join our team!Job Type: Full Time
What You'll Do
The Warehouse Associate / Back-up Driver is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and distributing materials, tools, equipment, and products. This role also serves as a back-up delivery driver, ensuring timely and safe transportation of goods to customers or job sites when needed.
- Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, packing slips, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Marks materials with identifying information.
- Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
- Verifies and records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
- Drives equipment to transport items within the warehouse.
- Uses computer to enter records.
- Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
- Put away:
- Sorts and places material or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, style, or product code.
- Sortsand stores stocked goods inwarehouse.
- Marks materials with identifying information.
- Weighs or counts items for distribution within warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Picking:
- Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to customers and sales.
- Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
- Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
- Packing:
- Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Verifies the product that has been picked and documents discrepancies on an error log and has correct product re-picked.
- Confirm tickets.
- Uses computer to enter records.
- Loading:
- Consolidates freight for shipping.
- Driver:
- Communicate with sales associates or managers through problem solving to meet customer needs.
- Acts in a helpful and cooperative manner towards customers and World associates.
- Ensure truck is in safe operating condition and maintains a clean appearance.
- Ability to frequently lift, push, and slide packages that typically weigh up to 75 lbs.
- Construct pallets based on delivery area preventing stock from being damaged on delivery.
- Participate in processes and programs aimed at promoting a safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record Required
- Ability to:
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules,operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Add, subtract,multiply and divide in all units to measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Compute rate, ratio, and percent andto drawand interpret bar graphs.
- Knowledge of warehouse technology including the use of RF guns and warehouse inventory software.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, the Internet
- Previous forklift/cherry picker experience
- Basic safety knowledge (i.e., proper lifting techniques, etc.)
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and slide packages that typically weigh up to 75 lbs.
- Frequently requires standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching with arms, and constant use of hands.
- Continuous mental and visual alertness to maintain safety and achieve accuracy.
- Requires flexibility and mobility in body movements.
- Removing gates from flatbed trucks
- Occasionally, may be required to lift items greater than 75lbs with assistance.
