Accounting Coordinator; Construction Accounting

Sun Mechanical Systems is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Coordinator to support our growing team. This position plays a key role in day-to-day accounting operations, vendor coordination, construction accounting support, and maintaining accurate financial records.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.

• Process vendor invoices and support accounts payable functions
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper approvals and documentation
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to invoices, purchase orders, and payments
• Maintain vendor records, including W-9 compliance and 1099 reporting
• Prepare and file sales tax returns in multiple state jurisdictions
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
• Maintain organized accounting and job cost records
• Enter weekly timecards for job cost employees
• Assist with check runs, ACH payments, and financial reporting
• Provide general accounting and administrative support as needed

• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

• Construction industry accounting experience strongly preferred
• Sage 100 experience strongly preferred
• Candidates with construction industry accounting and Sage 100 experience will receive priority consideration
• Experience with multi-state sales tax filings
• Notary Public certification

Compensation above the posted range may be considered for candidates with exceptional qualifications, including relevant construction industry accounting and Sage 100 experience.

Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 annually, depending on experience
