Objective

The EMC Test Engineer performs EMC tests per management direction including ESD, Radiated Emissions, Conducted Emissions, BCI, and Transients. The EMC Test Engineer is also responsible for creating test reports per customer requirements. They must be able to setup and perform testing for multiple programs and may need to perform testing off-site as well.

  • Perform EMC testing per customer specifications, including but not limited to: ESD, BCI, Free Field Radiated Immunity, Transients, Radiated Emissions, and Conducted Emissions.
  • Maintain A2LA accreditation paperwork and equipment calibrations.
  • Maintain A2LA accreditation processes and maintain proper documentation for compliance.
  • Assist the Lead EMC Engineer in any tasks needed to satisfy the customer.
  • Perform test setups off-site and monitor testing.
Experience

3+ years

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar)

Certifications

NARTE EMC Technician/EMC Engineer Certification preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Superb knowledge/performance of all laboratory equipment including:
    Spectrum Analyzers, RF Amplifiers, Signal Generators, EMI Receivers, Antennas, Directional Couplers, and Power Meters.
  • TILE software exposure preferred
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem solving
  • Striving to be innovative
  • Continuously maintaining a customer focus
Physical Demand (Special Considerations)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, kneel/squat, bend, and push/pull/lift up to 50 lbs. Occasionally, they must crawl, handle, and push/pull/lift over 50lbs.
