Job Summary
Under the direction of the Supplier Quality Engineer Lead (or Manager), the Supplier Quality Engineer position seeks a highly skilled individual with strong technical acumen. The primary objective of this role is to drive supplier improvement, PPAP review, and deviation management processes while utilizing advanced data analysis tools for enhanced supplier quality monitoring. - Essential Responsibilities (NCR/CAR):
Participate in a collaborative team approach to evaluate, expedite, and issue NCR while ensuring minimal disruption to supply chain and customer shipments; apply problem‑solving skills to effectively address NCR/CAR issues, notify suppliers, monitor CAR timeliness, and review/approve CAR. - PPAP

Upon receiving PPAP from Mechanical and Electronics commodity suppliers, review documentation accuracy, request inspection data as needed; upon Production Part Validation (PPV) approval, sign Part Submission Warrant (PSW) and notify supplier. - Supplier Approval

Review supplier documentation (Supplier Profile, CQI, Quality System Self‑Survey, Quality/Environmental Certifications). Approve supplier if all documentation meets requirements, or make recommendations (including audits). Conduct facility audit as required. - Deviation
:
Communicate, enter, and obtain disposition of supplier‑requested deviations for component parts. - Continual Improvement
:
Digitize and optimize supplier and inspection records, ensuring efficient data retrieval and traceability; connect and integrate various databases, streamline data flow and ensure data accuracy; use Power
BI to create insightful reports and dashboards; provide actionable insights through data analysis and recommend improvements to enhance supplier quality performance.
- Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering or other technical degree).
- Minimum 3+ years Quality Engineer experience within the Automotive Industry.
- Quality engineering or manufacturing engineering experience in an automated mass production environment.
- Proficiency in soldering, electronic components, and PCB assembly.
- Familiarity with data mining and database management (mySQL, SQL Server, Nintax, or SharePoint).
- Solid understanding of data analysis techniques and statistical methodologies; working knowledge of implementing various charts, corrective action programs, simple DOE, and other SPC tools.
- Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Project, Access).
- Working knowledge of various problem‑solving techniques (Pareto, cause and effect, histograms, etc.).
- Knowledge of plating, plastic molding, metal stamping, die casting, and/or welding desired.
- Expertise with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949.
- Independent and collaborative team play; excellence judgment/decision‑making ability; expertise in planning and goal setting/accomplishment; strong attention to detail; strong problem‑solving ability; customer‑centric; strong communication skills (oral/written); highly organized, resourceful with time/resources; proficient in Excel; technical writing/interpreting skills; MRP/ERP experience required (KBM, a plus).
