Quality Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans for CNC-machined thermal products. This role involves reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to ensure accurate quality planning and leading root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for internal and customer quality issues.

Responsibilities

+ Develop, implement, and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans for CNC-machined thermal products.

+ Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to ensure accurate quality planning.

+ Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for internal and customer quality issues.

+ Support first article inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections.

+ Collaborate closely with CNC machinists, programmers, and supervisors to resolve quality concerns and improve processes.

+ Analyze quality data and trends, and recommend process improvements.

+ Manage nonconforming material reports and coordinate disposition activities.

+ Assist with customer, internal, and third-party audits, including ISO 9001.

+ Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of inspection and measurement equipment.

+ Support supplier quality activities, including supplier evaluations and corrective actions.

+ Implement and maintain statistical methodologies for process improvement.

+ Train production and inspection personnel on quality standards and best practices.

+ Collaborate daily with internal departments, including sales, customer service, engineering, purchasing, and production.

+ Lead and direct the shop-floor quality team, including training and addressing technical challenges.

+ Perform other tasks and special projects as needed.

Essential Skills

+ Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree is required.

+ Minimum of 5 years of Quality Engineering experience.

+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.

+

Experience with quality tools such as PPAP, FMEA, SPC, root cause analysis, and 8D.

+ Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other applicable quality management systems.

+ Proficiency with statistical software such as Mini Tab or JMP.

+ Experience using inspection equipment like calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ ASQ quality-related certifications such as CQE or CQA are preferred.

+ Lean / Six Sigma certifications such as Green Belt or Black Belt are preferred.

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.

This is a Permanent position based out of St. Charles, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
