NMOA (St. Charles, IL), headquarters our family of Companies with facilities in the USA, Canada, Germany and Mexico.
As a world leader in sensing and control technology, we control the most discrete functions within an automobile – from seat switches, power window switches, and instrument panel controls, towards complex user interfaces. NMOA is directly involved with automotive OEM’s and holds a leadership position within Nidec for product development with global vehicle makers.
Objective
Our PCB Layout Engineer designs and develops the physical layout of printed circuit boards (PCBs) for electronic devices, specific to the Automotive Industry. This involves creating and validating component footprints, routing traces, and ensuring designs meet performance, manufacturability, and reliability standards. You work closely with other electrical / mechanical engineers, and quality/manufacturing partners to bring PCB designs from concept to production (Product drawing packages for Supplier and Production Use).
- Release CAD drawing packages
- Interface with supplier technical staff
- Participate in part and tooling design reviews for PCB
- Coordinate design requirements with production, quality, and supply chain groups
- Maintain process related work instructions and forms
- Component library maintenance (Convert Altium Library to d-base file)
- Update component data filling in specific values by reviewing component datasheets
- Document process for future use by other engineers.
- Provide excellent communication with related members and section work with timely reporting of urgent or significant issues to Supervisor
- Support / Implement the ISO
9001/IATF
16949 Quality Process & ISO
14001 Environmental Policy as they pertain to work activities. - Other job-related activities and support duties as required
Education & Experience
:
- Bachelor Degree Electrical Engineering
-or- - Associate’s Degree Electronics with 10+ year’s relevant / progressive PCB Layout Design experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
:
- Altium experience or similar (Orcad, Protel, or Mentor Graphics)
- High volume production exposure (preferably automotive electronics industry)
- DFM/DFT (Design For Manufacturing / Design for Testing) experience
- Ability to multi-task to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail and work with a sense of urgency and accuracy.
- Trigonometry knowledge
- PCB fabrication knowledge
- Design for EMC (Electro-Magnetic Compatibility)
