Objective
This position is responsible for the design and development of automotive electronic modules and components, as well as customer liaison and inter‑company coordination or new product design. This position demands attention to detail, accuracy and technical competence. Also, in‑depth knowledge of automotive specifications and automotive electronics and knowledge of test procedures required for automotive parts.
Essential Responsibilities- Participates in new electronics product designs based on customer requests or internal development.
- Understands customer procedures and implements or adapts development to meet those requirements.
- Implements new designs into production by creating designs and following the entire development process.
- Assists the Quality Department in analyzing warranty and other customer returns.
- Works in conjunction with leadership to develop long‑range and short‑range goals for self and department.
- Prepares product or system layout and detailed schematics/drawings as required.
- Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
- Liaison with suppliers for quotes, specifications and samples.
- Updates / Maintains current NMOA products through research and recommendation for improvement design opportunities of electronic modules and components. Verifying that all specifications are met.
- Supports / Implements the ISO
14001 Environmental Policy as it pertains to work activities.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities- Power Systems (Experience with Electronic Oil Pumps / Water Pumps highly desired)
- Experience with modeling CAD tools such as MathCAD, LTSpice or PSpice.
- Analog, digital and power systems circuit design, component selection, schematic capture, and circuit simulation.
- Power dissipation calculation, worst‑case tolerance analysis, and design failure mode effect analysis.
- Electronics prototype construction and design verification testing.
- EMC compliance and design verification testing and review.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project).
- The individual must have a strong attention to detail and be a strong problem solver.
- The individual must be innovative and accountable for actions.
- Ability to effectively manage time and resources.
- Strong communication skills are desirable.
