Accountant Opportunity With The City Of St. Charles

Looking to progress into the world of municipal finance? The City of St. Charles has an opportunity for you! Currently seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance Department. We provide a supportive work environment that encourages learning and professional growth.

Responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including auditing, budgeting, control functions, reconciliations, payroll support and other general accounting functions which aid and support the department. Work closely with the Finance Director, Deputy Finance Director, and Sr. Accountant on special projects and ensure the smooth functioning of financial systems.

Key responsibilities include:

• Maintaining Treasury Management, capital assets and other internal service accounting systems
• Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end close, bank reconciliations and balance sheet maintenance
• Assist with annual and long-term budget preparation and document development
• Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual payroll filings
