Shipping / Receiving Lead SummaryThis position is primarily responsible for providing assistance to the warehouse shipping and receiving supervisor as well as the shipping & receiving staff. In addition, this position is also responsible for assisting with the inventory levels of all incoming and in-process inventory levels used in production.
Shipping / Receiving Lead Duties and Responsibilities- Provide assistance to warehouse shipping and receiving supervisor.
- Assist with work orders with production supervisors to ensure inventory levels and work priorities can be met to meet customer demands.
- Assists with the monitoring and maintaining of accurate inventory levels and performs regular cycle counts.
- Assists with planning and organizing of the receiving, storage and distribution of all items received either from suppliers or production ensuring a smooth and consistent operation.
- Assists with the unloading of all materials into the receiving department; ensures materials are staged for counting and/or inspection; ensures receiving reports accurately reflect material received. Resolves discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports. Assists with the movement of material from receiving to the warehouse and to production in an efficient, effective and safe manner.
- High School diploma, some college preferred or equivalent education.
- 3-5 years' experience in warehouse, shipping or receiving in a supervisory capacity a must.
- Bilingual English / Spanish, preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook required, ERP (SAGE 100) knowledge a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and an ability to be well organized is required.
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to work with individuals over the phone and via electronic communication is a must.
- Ability to take initiative and solve problems a must.
- Familiarity with ISO process and a familiarity with working in conjunction with a Quality Management System.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a fast-growing environment.
- Forklift experience.
