Job Summary
The Electronics Technician I is responsible for testing automotive components, developing component test systems, and assisting in various electronic design and development activities. This position demands attention to detail, accuracy, and technical competence. It requires knowledge of automotive electronics and specifications as well as test procedures for automotive parts. An efficient work ethic and high level of overall quality are required.
EssentialResponsibilities
- Assist in creating new electronic product designs based on customer requests or internal development plans.
- Assist with electronic part procurement.
- Build prototypes and test fixtures, modify circuit boards, and assist in testing.
- Assist in the development of electronic component test plans.
- Assist in the design and development of test systems.
- Perform testing according to test plans or work instructions.
- Support bench level investigations.
- Test final designs at different temperatures.
- Conduct experiments, manage and generate accurate records and/or reports of testing completed.
- Perform other job related and support activity duties as required.
1+ years of experience. Associate’s Degree or Equivalent.
Certifications- IPC J-STD-001
- IPC 7711
- IPC 7721 (preferred)
- Superb knowledge/performance of all laboratory technician skills and equipment.
- Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office, advanced Excel preferred.
- Soldering of electronic components and PCB level repair.
- Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings.
- Advanced knowledge of SMT rework and repair.
- Good organizational skills and interpersonal skills.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, kneel/squat, bend, and push/pull/lift up to 50 lbs. Occasionally, they must crawl, handle, and push/pull/lift over 25 lbs.
