Position Title: CNC Plasma Operator
Location: On-site (Manufacturing Facility)

Position Summary
We are seeking a CNC Plasma Operator to support fabrication of steel components used in custom equipment builds. This role is responsible for operating a CNC plasma cutting machine, ensuring part accuracy, and supporting overall shop productivity. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a small, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC plasma cutting machines to produce parts from steel plate and sheet
- Load and position raw materials, ensuring proper alignment and setup
- Read and interpret basic blueprints, cut files, and work orders
- Monitor cutting operations and adjust settings as needed to maintain quality
- Inspect finished parts for accuracy, edge quality, and dimensional tolerances
- Perform routine maintenance (cleaning torch, replacing consumables, etc.)
- Identify and troubleshoot minor machine or cutting issues
- Sort, label, and stage cut parts for downstream processes (welding, machining, assembly)
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1+ years of experience operating CNC plasma, laser, or similar cutting equipment (or relevant training)
- Ability to read basic blueprints and shop drawings
- Experience using measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, squares)
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Experience with plasma systems (Hypertherm, ESAB, or similar)
- Familiarity with nesting software or basic program selection
- Experience in a small shop or custom equipment manufacturing environment
- Forklift or overhead crane experience
- Basic fabrication knowledge (fit-up, welding prep)
