Location: St. Charles
Job Description
- Operates equipment to move finished product for shipping or storage
- Supplies Manufacturing Department with materials as needed
- Stages product to be moved or shipped
- Racks unused supplies and maintains inventory of type, amount and location of items
- Transports and processes manufacturing paper by‑products
- Empties trash hoppers and performs housekeeping duties as needed
- Performs routine daily inspections on hoist and reports maintenance needs
- May include battery service duties such as inspecting, recharging and replacing batteries of electrical leads and battery poles and lubricating truck's moving parts
- May include changing LP/Propane
- Adheres to safety policies including hazardous waste handling, lockout‑tagout, hearing and eye protection
- Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned
- Must know the dimensions and load capacity of the forklift and its load
- Ability to identify doorway and aisle clearance for forklift operation and load placement
- Knowledge of storage area layout for item retrieval and placement without detailed instructions
- Skilled in moving forklifts in tight spaces and stacking or removing loads
- Greater knowledge and skill than Hoist Operator 1 in handling controls for driving forklift and/or clamp trucks
- Skilled in operating forklift controls for starting, stopping, backing, navigating narrow aisles, ramps, railcars, trucks, etc., and for lifting, lowering, and tilting forks by moving hands, arms, feet, and legs
- Must recognize whether forklift can lift load and if load is properly balanced
The pay range for this role at the cited location is $17.65 to $26.55 per hour. The actual rate may vary based on education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, compensation may include a sign‑on bonus, overtime, shift differential, call‑in, and stand‑by pay.
