Responsibilities
- Review and understand the daily blending schedule and shift expectations.
- Verify that the equipment being used is in good working order. Complete inspection forms as necessary.
- Weigh, stage, blend, or dump formulas according to the schedule.
- Verify all ingredients and quantities align with the batch formulas and are introduced to the blender in the proper sequence.
- Ensure the correct tools are used in accordance with our color code policy.
- Utilize a manual or electric pallet jack to transport material or hoppers.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S standards.
- Complete all necessary forms in Safety Chain.
- Provide samples to quality as needed.
- Lead the blending process and guide team members working at blenders.
- Always follow safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) regulations.
- Communicate via radio and face-to-face throughout the department on material needs and process progression.
- Utilize an RF scanner to transfer materials to jobs, hoppers, or packaging lines.
- Complete necessary documentation for the batch.
- Communicate with packaging and quality as needed.
- Ensure all processes are completed in a timely manner.
- Assist and direct other team members as needed.
- Train new associates as needed.
- Participate in company inventory count and other assignments as needed.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to push/pull up to 100 lbs.
- Stand or walk 98% of the shift.
- Bending, twisting, stooping motions 80% of time
- Basic knowledge of an RF scanner is a plus.
- Ability to calculate simple mathematical figures and understand and carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to solve problems and troubleshoot issues.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Experience in manufacturing or food environment is a plus.
