Schedule:
Full‑Time | 40 hours/week | Monday–Thursday (4×10 hr shifts)
Shift: Nights | 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM
OverviewJoin our team at Mercy Hospital South as a Medical Surgical Clinical Supervisor, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring safe, high‑quality, and cost‑effective patient care. In this leadership role, you will guide and support clinical teams, promote a culture of excellence, and help shape the future of patient care through servant leadership.
What You’ll Do- Lead and support competent, compassionate co‑workers in delivering exceptional patient care.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and collaborate closely with the Staffing Office on patient flow and bed management.
- Use resources efficiently to meet productivity and financial goals.
- Partner with clinical leadership, physicians, and administrative teams to enhance workflows and improve processes across the continuum of care.
- Inspire and model a shared vision—encouraging change, professional growth, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor, guide, and empower co‑workers to become leaders of change within the organization.
- Provide meaningful recognition and foster a positive, engaging team culture through servant leadership.
- Hold direct and indirect caregivers accountable for professional responsibilities, adherence to policies, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in performance evaluations in collaboration with the Clinical Manager.
- Demonstrate Mercy’s Mission, Values, and Service Standards in all interactions.
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- Nursing Diploma
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Licensure:
Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure.
Experience:
3-5 years of hospital nursing experience.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.
Education:
BSN preferred.
Licensure:
Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred.
Experience:
Prior management experience—experience within change management.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift.
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties.
