Role DescriptionThe SQF Practitioner at Labels & Specialty Products is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the SQF (Safe Quality Food) system across the facility. This full-time, on-site role in St Charles, IL involves monitoring and verifying food safety and quality programs, leading internal audits, and ensuring compliance with SQF standards and regulatory requirements. The role includes conducting root cause analyses for nonconformances, maintaining documentation and records, and coordinating corrective and preventive actions.
The SQF Practitioner collaborates with production, quality, and management teams to train personnel on SQF requirements, support continuous improvement initiatives, and prepare for and participate in external audits and customer reviews.
- Experience in food safety management systems, including SQF program development, implementation, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP principles, and regulatory requirements related to food packaging and labeling.
- Skills in internal auditing, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) management.
- Ability to create, review, and maintain clear procedures, policies, and quality documentation.
- Strong communication and training skills to guide cross‑functional teams in SQF and food safety practices.
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience in a food packaging, printing, or manufacturing facility is preferred.
- Relevant certification as SQF Practitioner or equivalent food safety credential is highly beneficial; associate or bachelor’s degree in food science, quality, or a related field is an asset.
