Position: Environmental GeoProbe Sr. Driller (Regional Manager)
Location: St. Charles

Overview

As a DPA Environmental Geo Probe Sr. Driller (Regional Manager), you will oversee all aspects of your region’s environmental sampling using Geoprobe direct push drilling technology, ensuring safe and efficient operations while adhering to all environmental regulations, managing, training, and coordinating project logistics for your regional team of drillers. Conduct environmental logging and sampling as an onsite Geologist as needed, manage multiple projects, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and lead a team of professionals to achieve operational excellence.

  • 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER / 8 Hour HAZWOPER Refresher (Preferred)
Responsibilities Project Management
  • Plan and execute environmental drilling projects, including site mobilization, rig setup, drilling schedules, and sample collection procedures.
  • Review project plans, interpret site data, and make necessary adjustments to drilling strategy.
  • Monitor project timelines, P&L and Cost Center management, and ensure compliance with project specifications.
Personnel Management and Drilling Operations
  • Manage and train Geoprobe drilling crews in safe and proper operation of drilling rigs and equipment.
  • Monitor drilling progress, interpret soil conditions, and adjust drilling parameters as needed.
  • Conduct quality control checks on sample collection, labeling, and chain‑of‑custody procedures.
Safety and Compliance
  • Ensure all dig tickets are called in and cleared prior to any on‑site work.
  • Implement and enforce strict safety protocols on all drilling sites.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations, permits, and reporting requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions with drillers.
Data Analysis and Reporting
  • Complete all on‑site geologist logging and sampling as required.
  • Review and interpret field data collected during drilling operations.
  • Prepare detailed drilling reports, including soil logs, contaminant concentrations, and site observations.
  • Coordinate with environmental scientists and project managers to communicate findings and recommendations.
Equipment Maintenance
  • Oversee routine maintenance and repair of Geoprobe drilling rigs and associated equipment.
  • Coordinate with vendors for equipment servicing and repairs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or STEM, with 2 years of drilling experience; or 6 years of experience with Geoprobe drilling.
  • 2 years of management experience.
  • Must be able to meet the physical labor demands of the job (e.g., carry 50‑75 lbs. repeatedly, stand for long periods, kneel, maintain balance).
  • Willing to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Regional travel with ability to stay out of town as needed (less than 10 %).
  • Ability to work occasional weekends (less than 5 %).
  • Must have or agree to obtain 40‑hour Hazmat training and maintain HAZWOPER updates.
  • Pass pre‑employment drug screen, background check, and DOT physical.
  • Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to acquire Class A CDL.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
