Overview

Q Center is looking for a Full Time 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician to join our team. The schedule is 11pm-7:30am Tuesday-Saturday. Starting rate is $22/hour with a $2/hour shift differential.

Responsibilities
  • The Maintenance Engineer, Level 1, is responsible for ensuring that the property is maintained in the best possible condition with minimal inconvenience to guests and associates.
  • Support basic maintenance and repairs of mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems, building equipment, and property structures.
  • Complete assigned work orders for general repair within the specified time frame to achieve operational efficiency, safety, and equipment reliability.
  • Immediately and courteously respond to guests’ needs to repair and resolve room maintenance requests.
  • Participate in inventory maintenance and periodic counting; request necessary parts with accurate, detailed information.
  • Become proficient in the use of electronic devices (TMA/CMMS) for recording work activity, receiving work orders, and preventive maintenance requests.
  • Follow instructions to utilize Building Automation System (BAS) to transition boilers/chillers/cooling towers between heating and cooling without damaging equipment.
  • Maintain repair and preventative maintenance records (automated and manual).
  • Perform basic plumbing, electrical, lighting, and ceiling tile repairs; replace light switches, receptacles, bulbs, fixtures, and perform furniture/workstation installation as needed.
  • Repair and maintain HVAC components, including understanding 2- and 4-pipe systems and basic water softener operation.
  • Read equipment gauges, perform run testing of generators, and diagnose equipment issues; monitor and report problems to supervision.
  • Inspect and repair roof exhaust fans and other building systems; diagnose and repair small cleaning equipment.
  • Access, evaluate, and repair various building/mechanical/equipment systems as directed; operate rodding equipment and power tools as needed.
  • Maintain familiarity with building systems and the differences across facility areas.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent, and/or experience in a hotel or related field required; at least one year of progressive experience preferred.
  • Trade school and/or college coursework in a related field is helpful; valid driver’s license required.
  • Flexible shifts and long hours occasionally required; ability to lift heavy objects and work at heights (lift up to 20 feet).
  • Basic reading of blueprints; ability to use HVAC and building systems knowledge to perform basic tasks.
  • Comfort level with hands-on work on a variety of small and medium-sized equipment and building systems; basic mechanical aptitude and a customer-service orientation.
Physical Requirements
  • Heavy work; able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly.
  • Comfortable operating from a lift up to 20 feet high.
