Job Summary

The residential community coordinator is responsible for two or more residence halls or non‑traditional residential housing locations. This position serves as a role model, facilitator, leader, and essential employee in the effective operation of the Residential Life program. The residential community coordinator is an at‑will employee who is appointed to a year‑round, full‑time, live‑in position. The residential community coordinator recognizes that their primary residence in Lindenwood’s housing is a required term and condition of employment, and that the residential community coordinator’s right to Lindenwood housing terminates upon the residential community coordinator’s separation from employment as a residential community coordinator.

The residential community coordinator agrees to abide by the terms and conditions set forth in the Lindenwood Housing Contract and Lindenwood’s Residential Housing Policies and Procedures, including any occupancy limits set forth in those agreements.

Essential Job Functions and Performance Indicators

This job description describes a representation of the types of duties and level of responsibility that will be required of the position. Employees may be directed to perform tasks other than those presented in this description.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate student employees
  • Understand and manage student conflict
  • Oversee the Residence Hall Association operations within the hall
  • Foster a community environment, encouraging students’ intellectual, social, and personal growth
  • Serve as a member of the professional staff on‑call duty rotation
  • Lead residential operations support in the summertime and as needed
  • Manage maintenance and custodial needs for either a residential area or residence halls
  • Assist in crisis intervention and serve as a resource or referral agent during the academic year, including breaks and holidays
  • Maintain office hours to meet with residents
  • Oversee the planning of events and programs led by residential staff
  • Conduct health and wellness checks as needed
  • Hold one‑on‑one monthly meetings with student employees
  • Organize and schedule work for community advisors and assistant area coordinators, including hall coverage
  • Manage and approve student employee timesheets
  • Conduct minor disciplinary meetings
  • Participate in resident life administrative operations, committee assignments, and task forces
  • Support the mission of the University and serve as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence
