Controller, Accounting, Financial Reporting

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Controller in Saint Charles, MO. Our client is a well‑established manufacturing company seeking a Controller to serve as the senior finance and accounting leader. This is a highly hands‑on role ideal for a well‑rounded accounting professional who is comfortable managing day‑to‑day accounting operations while also providing strategic financial oversight. The role may include supervision of one accounting staff member.

The client offers a salary and benefits package, insurance plans, PTO, 401(k) plan and other company perks. The position will be functioning as on‑site in the Saint Charles, MO area.

• Lead all accounting and financial activities in accordance with GAAP
• Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage cost accounting, inventory valuation, and manufacturing financial controls
• Own budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and reporting requirements
• Provide financial insight and decision support to ownership
• Drive process improvement, internal controls, and reporting enhancements
• Serve as the financial systems lead

• Minimum of 7+ years of progressive, hands‑on accounting experience
• Demonstrated experience with cost accounting and inventory‑heavy environments
• Broad, well‑rounded accounting background with strong technical knowledge
• Systems‑savvy mindset with a continuous improvement orientation
• Ability to thrive in a small, collaborative, and highly accountable environment
• CPA preferred
• Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
