Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to support day-to-day accounting operations for a Contract position based in St Charles, Missouri. This role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, handling invoice and payment activities, and assisting with reporting and reconciliation tasks. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working with accounting data in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

- Manage vendor invoice processing and payment activities while ensuring transactions are completed accurately and on schedule.

- Handle intercompany receivable entries and maintain proper documentation to support accounting records.

- Assist in preparing financial reports and statements by organizing data and validating supporting information.

- Reconcile company credit card transactions against monthly statements and investigate any unmatched items.

- Update spreadsheets and accounting systems to keep financial information current, complete, and reliable.

- Perform daily bank account reconciliations and address discrepancies in a timely manner.

- Support month-end and year-end closing processes by completing assigned accounting tasks and account reviews.

- Work closely with colleagues to research accounting variances and help resolve outstanding issues in compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Requirements - Experience supporting accounts payable functions, including invoice review, coding, and processing.

- Working knowledge of check runs and payment procedures within an accounting environment.

- Ability to reconcile financial transactions and identify discrepancies with strong attention to detail.

- Proficiency with spreadsheets and accounting software used for maintaining financial records.

- Understanding of basic accounting principles and standard compliance expectations.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.

- Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal team members on accounting matters.
