The Paving Superintendent will be responsible for supervising crews, coordinating schedules, ensuring safety and quality standards, and delivering projects on time and within budget. This role requires a strong understanding of asphalt paving techniques, equipment, and materials, with a proven track record of leadership in road, highway, or site development projects.

• Supervise and manage daily paving operations including labor, equipment, and materials.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and inspectors to ensure smooth execution of work.
• Plan and schedule paving activities to meet project deadlines and milestones.
• Monitor quality control and ensure compliance with all project specifications, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
• Conduct daily site inspections and toolbox talks to enforce safety protocols and identify potential risks.
• Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and job orders.
• Track production rates and report progress, challenges, and delays to senior management.
• Ensure optimal equipment utilization and coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs or servicing.
• Train and mentor crew members, promoting teamwork and operational efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and labor hours.

• 7+ years of experience in heavy civil construction with a focus on asphalt paving.
• 3+ years in a supervisory or superintendent role.
• Strong knowledge of paving equipment (pavers, rollers, milling machines, etc.) and asphalt mix designs.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting civil drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Solid understanding of DOT standards, local regulations, and safety practices.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast‑paced, outdoor construction environment.
• Proficiency in construction management software is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

• Ability to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, walk, stand;
  Able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
