Program / Project Manager, Operations Manager
Location: St. Charles
Position Summary
Mechanical Solutions is seeking an experienced Project Manager with 5–10 years of experience in the mechanical contracting industry. The role is responsible for managing projects from planning through completion, coordinating installations, developing and maintaining schedules, and overseeing project budgets to ensure successful and timely delivery.

Responsibilities- Manage construction projects from turnover through final closeout
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee multiple projects while meeting schedules, budgets, and deadlines
- Direct and supervise superintendents, field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure accurate execution of project scope
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to achieve project objectives
- Review project scope to develop schedules, plan deliverables, and estimate costs
- Develop, maintain, and update project schedules throughout the project lifecycle
- Track and manage project resources, including labor, equipment, and materials
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, quality standards, and safety regulations
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks
- Obtain required permits and approvals
- Prepare and maintain project status reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Negotiate, prepare, and process change orders
- Coordinate monthly billing and financial documentation with the accounting department
- Complete all required project closeout documentation
- Travel locally between job sites and safely navigate active construction environments
- 3–5 years of experience in HVAC or mechanical project management; design-build experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of construction management processes, methods, and mechanical systems
- Working knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and municipal permitting processes
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, electrical, civil, plumbing, and mechanical drawings
- Experience managing subcontractors and vendors
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet sensitive timelines
- Strong organizational, communication, and time‑management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, and project management software such as Microsoft Project and Bluebeam Revu
- OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Ability to professionally represent the company with customers, owners, and partners
- Ability to operate standard office equipment
- Must be able to pass pre‑employment and random drug testing in accordance with company policy
