Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assists teacher as needed with planning, preparation, and distribution of classroom materials. Conducts learning games with students according to established procedures. Maintains regular attendance. Complies with State law and District policies and regulations. Maintains a safe environment for students, conducive to learning. Assist teacher with student needs; may include feeding, lifting, suctioning, toileting, and other learning activities. Assist in other physical ways as identified by the IEP.
Anticipates and effectively addresses unforeseen crises associated with working with large groups of children. Provides individualized and small-group instruction to reinforce skills that have been taught by the teacher. Ability to implement lessons based on district and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned. Serves snacks and lunches as necessary. Attends district workshops as directed.
Maintains confidentiality, unquestionable integrity.
Qualifications:
60 college credit hours OR Missouri Paraprofessional Assessment through ETS OR Completed Missouri's 20-hour online substitute training program Prefer prior experience working with special needs children.
Terms of employment: 7 hours per day
