Position:
Speech & Debate Assistant Coach

Stipend:
Minimum $2,583

Purpose Statement

Extra-curricular activities are an important extension of the student experience. The Assistant Coach will inspire, motivate, and teach students skills related to Speech & Debate while building positive character traits and meaningful relationships with students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Assist with the supervision and instruction of student participants during practices and competitions

* Support the development of students' communication, critical thinking, and performance skills

* Help organize and implement practice plans and competition preparation

* Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive student behavior

* Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times

* Assist with coordination of events, competitions, and related activities

* Work collaboratively with the head coach and building staff

Qualifications

Eligible Applicants:

* FHSD Certified Employees

* FHSD Non-Certified Employees

* Qualified external candidates

Assistant Coach Requirement:

* Completion of 60 or more college credit hours prior to coaching

Work Environment

* School setting with after school, evening, and possible weekend responsibilities

* Travel to competitions may be required
