ST. JAMES R-1 SCHOOL DISTRICT CLASSIFIED POSITION DESCRIPTION
Job Title:
Elementary Special Education Resource Room Paraprofessional
REPORTS TO:
SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER AND ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT
High School Diploma or equivalent. 36 college hours or has passed the Paraprofessional Assessment, MUST hold a sub teacher certification. (required for School wide Title 1 buildings only). Experience and training in working with children with special needs is desired.
PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVESEmployment is on an annual basis. This is an at-will position. The Superintendent of Schools makes employment recommendations in April of each year for the next fiscal year. The final decision is made by the Board of Education. Salary is based on the Classified Salary Schedule adopted annually by the Board of Education.
EVALUATIONAn annual evaluation is conducted by the supervising special education teacher each year using the evaluation method adopted by the Board of Education.
