Design Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking a Design Engineer I at our St. Charles, MO – Corporate location. The Design Engineer I will work under the supervision of a project manager, engineering manager, supervisor, or lead designer and will provide design support for specifically defined portions of a larger project. The engineer will work both independently and as a member of the larger engineering team to develop aircraft structural layouts and design individual components, assemblies, and installations.

• Applies standard engineering practices and techniques, including innovative methodologies, to provide effective solutions to problems involving a limited number of variables.
• Focuses on existing products and processes and researches and develops limited structural engineering layouts.
• Creates conceptual layouts and designs of components, assemblies, and installations.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the specified engineering field.
• Has basic to intermediate knowledge of CATIA V5 engineering design software.
• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
• Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors.
• Provides creativity and latitude when necessary and performs other duties as required.

Requires a BSME, BSCE, BSAE, or a Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field and a minimum of 0‑4 years of experience in the Aerospace Industry or a related field. Working knowledge of CATIA V5, Solid Works, or other 3D design software is preferred, as well as basic knowledge of MS Office products.
